Shodasha Varga
The Shodasha Varga, or sixteen-fold divisional chart system, is an essential component of Vedic astrology. It comprises sixteen different divisional charts, each focusing on specific aspects of an individual’s life, such as health, career, relationships, and spiritual growth. These charts provide a detailed and nuanced understanding of various life areas.
1) Rashi Chart/Natal Chart-Rashi Kundli (D-1)
The birth chart is also called the Natal(Rashi) chart. Through the zodiac horoscope, it is known in which zodiac sign a planet was at the time of birth. The 12 houses of the birth chart tell about different aspects of life. For example, the first house tells about the personality of a person. Similarly, the second house shows the status of the person’s family and wealth.
2)Hora Chart (D-2)
Hora is a very important Divisional Charts. In the Hora chart, a zodiac sign is divided into 2 parts and each part is of 15°. Hora chart is used to determine the financial status and prosperity of the native. There are two Hora in the Hora Chart – the Sun’s Hora and the Moon’s Hora. Moon’s Hora is soft and gentle and Sun’s Hora is considered cruel. If any planet is in the Moon’s hora, then its dasha becomes soft and gives good results are obtained in less hard work. If any planet is in the Sun’s hora, then success is achieved after struggle and hard work.
3) Dreshkana Chart (D-3)
DreshkanaChart is the expansion of the third house. In Dreshkana Chart, one zodiac sign is divided into 3 parts of 10° each. There are three Dreshkanas in each Rashi(Zodiac Sign) and a total of 30 Dreshkanas. Through Dreshkana Kundli, the valour, bravery, courage, and siblings of the person are considered. The strength of any planet can be known through the D-3 chart.
4) Chaturthansha Chart (D-4)
In Chaturtansha Chart, one zodiac sign is divided into four parts each of 7°30′. It is also called the Padansh/Turiyansh horoscope. Chaturtansha Chart is used for fortune, luck, results of past birth deeds, landed property, assets, liabilities, the mother’s happiness, permanent happiness, foreign travel, construction of the house, cheating in the house, etc.
5) Saptamansha Chart(D-7)
In the Saptamansha Chart, one zodiac sign is divided into seven parts and each part is 4°17’7″. The happiness of children is seen through the Saptamansha Chart. By using this Chart, one can know when the child will be born, how it will be, and whether it will bring happiness or not. Therefore, while analyzing the horoscope, one should consider the fifth house, Jupiter and Saptamansh horoscope for the happiness of children.
6) Navmansha Kundali-Navmansha (D-9)
Navamsa Chart is the most important among all Divisional Charts. If the Birth chart is the body then Navamsa is its heart. Even if a planet is weak or debilitated in the birth chart, but if it is in a good position in the Navamsa chart, then it gives good results and if the planet is in a good position in the birth chart but is not in a good position in the Navamsa, then is unable to give expected good results. In the Navamsa chart, one zodiac sign is divided into nine parts and each part is of 3°20′.
Navamsha Chart is especially used to see the strength of planets and to consider life partner.
7) Dashmansha Chart (D-10)
In Dashamsha Chart, one zodiac sign is divided into 10 parts and each part is of 3°. D10 chart is used to determine the livelihood, profession, social status, position, work area, and success in the job, business, and workplace.
8) Dwadashmansha Chart (D-12)
In the Dwadashansha Chart, one zodiac sign is divided into 12 parts and each part is of 2°30′. Parents are considered through this Chart. The relationship between parents and their health is studied by this Chart. In D-12 chart, the position of the Moon and the fourth house is considered for the mother’s position, and the position of the Sun and the ninth house is considered for the father’s position.
9) Shodashansha Kundali-Shodashansha (D-16)
In Shodashansha Chart, one zodiac sign is divided into 16 parts and each part is of 1°52’30”. This Chart is used to see vehicle happiness and immovable property. The position of Venus is important in this Chart.
10) Vimshansha Chart(D-20)
In the Vimshansha Chart, each zodiac sign is divided into 20 divisions and each part is of 1°30′. This Chart is used to see the religious and spiritual inclination of the person. Which God or Goddess the person will be interested in worshiping can be known through the D-20 chart. In this Chart, the position of the fifth, ninth, and twelfth houses and Jupiter, Venus, and Ketu are important.
11) Chaturvishansha Chart (D-24)
In the Chaturvishansha Chart, one zodiac sign is divided into 24 parts and each part is of 1°15′. This Chart is used to see the education of the person. The position of the fifth house with the ascendant in the D-24 chart is important. Jupiter, Venus, and Mercury are important in this Chart. This is used to see what kind of education a person will get, the obstacles in getting an education, mental level of the person.
12) Saptavishansha Chart (D-27)
In the Saptavishansha Chart, one zodiac sign is divided into 27 parts and each part is of 1°6’40”. It is also called Bhansh. This Chart is used to see the physical, mental, and spiritual strength of the person. This Varga Chart is used to determine the physical and mental capabilities of the individual and his ability to withstand stress.
13)Trishansh Kundali-Trishansh (D-30)
In the Trishansha Chart, one zodiac sign is divided into 30 equal parts and each part is of 1°. This Chart is used to see the ill effects, bad influences, troubles, obstacles, and misfortunes in the life of the person.
14) Khavedansha Chart/Chatvaryansh (D-40)
In Khavedansh Varga Chart, one zodiac sign is divided into 40 parts and each part is of 45′. This Varga Chart is used to see the auspiciousness and inauspiciousness of the planets.
15) Akshavedansh Chart/ Panch Chatvaryansh (D-45)
In Akshavedansh Varga Chart, a zodiac sign is divided into 45 parts and each part is of 40′. This Varga Chart is used to see the general happiness and well-being of the person’s life. Some astrologers also connect this Varga Chart with the auspicious deeds of the previous birth.
16) Shashtiyansha Chart(D-60)
In Shashtiansh Varga Chart, one zodiac sign is divided into 60 parts and each part is of 30′. All results can be seen through this divisional chart. In this chart, each of the 60 parts of a zodiac sign has a different deity. If a planet falls in a good part then it gives good results in its dasha and antardasha.
The usefulness of Shodash Varga Chart
The sixteenth class is very important. Accurate predictions can be made using Shodash Varga Chart.
Shodash Varga is used to find out the Vimshopak Bala of the planets, through which it can be known how strong a planet is in the horoscope and how much fruit it is capable of giving.
Any house can be analyzed in detail by using Shodashvarga horoscopes. For example, by using D-3 chart, information about the brothers and sisters of the person can be told.
